CAROLYN MELMED
Carolyn Melmed is a founding member of the Lansdowne Centre, a school for children with learning difficulties. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Certificate of Secondary Education. Ms. Melmed has 35 years of teaching experience, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, is a certified mediator and has designed workshops for teachers, support staff and managers.
Ms. Melmed pioneered programs in organization and study skills for students, parents and teachers in various schools and institutions. She has conducted workshops for the McGill University Faculty of Education and her expertise was also solicited by the Cree School Board in Chisasibi, Quebec, where she taught. Ms. Melmed was also asked by the Ministry of Education to participate in a video conference presentation – LEARN – an outreach program for rural Quebec communities.
Ms. Melmed is president of Carolyn Melmed & Associés, and has applied some of her educational principles, experience and methods, first conceived for the classroom, to the machine shop, factory floor and other industrial settings. She has frequently been a guest on Montreal radio shows to speak on topics of education and learning and has been a featured presenter in the "Enrichment Lecture Series" of Celebrity Cruises Inc.
