Workshop Leader
Carolyn Melmed is a founding member of the Lansdowne Center - a school for children with learning difficulties. Carolyn
has a BA and a Secondary Certificate in Education. She has 35 years of
teaching experience, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.
Carolyn is a certified mediator and management consultant.
Carolyn
pioneered courses in Organizational and Study Skills for students,
parents and teachers and conducted workshops for the University of
McGill's Facutly of Education on these subjects. In addition to
presenting seminars in the Montreal area, Carolyn has travelled 1,000
miles to Chisasibi, Quebec, where she taught in the Cree School Board.
Carolyn has also published a workbook and manual to be used as a
springboard to these skills.
Carolyn is president of her own consulting firm, Carolyn Melmed & Associés,
and has carried some of her educational principles, experience and
methods as an educator, first conceived for the classroom, to its
application in the machine shop, factory floor and other industrial
settings. She is a certified mediator and has designed workshops for
teachers, support staff and managers for professional development.
Carolyn
has appeared frequently on radio shows in Montreal on topics of
education and learning, as well as on Celebrity Cruises Inc. in their
"Enrichment Lecture Series".
